NECPAs Appoints Inaugural Board of Directors

New England Society of CPAs Appoints Inaugural Board Officers and Directors 

BOSTON (July 28, 2026) – The New England Society of CPAs, which launched on July 1 following a merger of the state CPA societies of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, today announced its inaugural slate of officers and directors.

“As a brand new regional organization, the board sought to ensure that all states are represented both among the officers and on the board itself,” said Zach Donah, CAE, President and CEO of the New England Society of CPAs.  “But more than just representation of all states, our officers and board represent varied types of practitioners and practices – from the solo practitioner to in-house to corporate, multi-state practices to academia – and that ensures that our new organization can truly represent and advocate for a broad cross-section of the profession.”

Board officers will serve for one-year terms and board directors for three years.  All appointees are elected by Society members.

Ron Tull, CPA, of Wrentham, MA, Shareholder of Schofer Dillberg & Company, Inc., will chair the board.  Serving with Tull are Vice-Chairs: Ryan Black-Deegan, CPA, of Waterbury, VT, Partner at Davis & Hodgdon CPAs; Doryanne Hamel, MS, CPA, CFE,of Westerly, RI, Principal of Orefice, Caliri & Ferri CPAs; and David Stone, CPA, MBA, CFE,of Dayton, ME, Senior Manager of Financial Services Practice Group at BerryDunn.  Matthew Sawyer, CPA, of Concord, NH, Senior Manager at Nathan Wechsler & Company, will serve as Treasurer and Laura Felice, CPA, CGMA, of Norwell, MA, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of BJ’s Wholesale Club, as Secretary/Clerk.

By combining resources and expertise across the region, the New England Society of CPAs offers its 14,700 members enhanced advocacy, expanded learning opportunities and peer networks, stronger thought leadership, and greater influence on issues affecting the profession.  The regional organization is designed to build a strengthened, more sustainable future for the profession and to adapt with current and future shifts in technology, workforce development, regulation, and business models.
